Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) player Virat Kohli expressed his emotions on social media regarding the team’s victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. RCB secured their second consecutive title by defeating the Gujarat Titans in the final on May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This win made Bengaluru the third franchise in IPL history to defend their championship successfully.
In a video shared on X, Kohli highlighted the team’s journey and the strong camaraderie that helped them overcome obstacles on their path to victory. He mentioned, “Started the season with belief. Ended with back-to-back titles. This team lived every emotion together. The highs, the pressure, the hurdles, and the unwavering support. It feels extra special because this place is HOME!”
Under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, RCB put up a dominant performance in the final match. Bengaluru restricted Gujarat Titans to 155/8 in 20 overs and successfully chased down the target with two overs to spare. Kohli, who completed 19 years in the tournament, showcased an impressive performance by scoring 675 runs in the 2026 season at a remarkable strike rate of 165.54. He hit five half-centuries and a century, with his unbeaten 75 in the final being a standout performance that led RCB to victory.
Remaining unbeaten on 75 off 42 balls, Kohli played a crucial role in the run chase with his innings that included nine boundaries and three sixes. Despite late efforts by Gujarat, Kohli’s stellar performance guided RCB to the championship.
