Music composer Vishal Dadlani and veteran actor Prakash Raj have expressed their dismay over the forceful removal of activist Sonam Wangchuk from the protest site at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Dadlani, in an Instagram video, criticized the government’s actions, questioning the country’s state and urging citizens to wake up. Prakash Raj also condemned the government’s behavior, labeling it as cowardly.
Sonam Wangchuk was taken away by Delhi Police from the protest site after a 21-day hunger strike. He was moved to a hospital due to health concerns and a court order. While authorities claim minimal force was used, supporters argue that the removal was undemocratic and targeted a peaceful protest. Wangchuk’s hunger strike was to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over exam irregularities.
The controversy surrounding paper leaks in competitive exams, notably the NEET exam, has sparked protests and calls for transparency. Allegations of leaks and unfair advantages have shaken trust in the examination system. Despite the government’s defense of the exam process, investigations are ongoing to address malpractice concerns and restore credibility to the system.
