Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) President Alok Kumar emphasized that every individual is subject to investigation in the alleged Ram Mandir donation embezzlement case. He clarified that the exclusion of certain names from the FIR does not exempt them from scrutiny, as the probe will be thorough and time-bound.
Responding to queries about the absence of Ram Janmabhoomi Trust General Secretary Champat Rai in the FIR, Alok Kumar assured that the investigation extends to all individuals linked to the case, not just those named initially. He highlighted that the FIR includes ‘and other persons,’ indicating a broad examination scope.
Alok Kumar explained that the FIR stemmed from a Special Investigation Team’s (SIT) preliminary inquiry, which identified specific individuals in its report. He stressed that the investigation was a natural progression following the SIT’s findings and was not limited to the individuals named in the FIR.
The VHP chief underscored the importance of a comprehensive investigation encompassing all involved parties, emphasizing that no one would be exempt from scrutiny. He urged senior officers to conduct a swift and time-bound inquiry to expedite the legal process and ensure accountability.
The Uttar Pradesh Police swiftly arrested all eight accused in the alleged Ram Mandir donation embezzlement case following the FIR registration. The arrests came after a preliminary inquiry by the SIT, set up by the state government to investigate the misappropriation of donations at the Ayodhya temple.
Alok Kumar had earlier called for an immediate FIR registration in the case, condemning any misappropriation of offerings meant for Lord Ram’s temple as a betrayal of the Hindu community’s faith. He expressed disappointment over the situation and urged prompt legal action in response to reported irregularities.
