West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari criticized former CM Mamata Banerjee for persisting with old tactics of appeasement politics, deceit, and provocations despite their party’s recent defeat. Adhikari highlighted Banerjee’s response to violent protests in Baruipur, where she referred to rioters as “protesters” demonstrating against a minor girl’s alleged rape and murder. Adhikari emphasized that Banerjee’s approach of labeling criminals as protesters is concerning, citing instances of lynching and violence in the region.
Adhikari shared videos of the lynching incident and Banerjee’s statements, questioning the characterization of violent individuals as mere protesters. He condemned the chaos caused by these individuals, including attacks on police, destruction of public property, and disruption of peace. Adhikari reiterated his government’s commitment to a “zero-tolerance” policy towards all forms of criminal activities, ensuring that perpetrators of heinous crimes face legal consequences.
