West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari fulfilled his promise to deliver justice to Tamanna Khatun’s family in Kaliganj, Nadia district. Following a meeting with Tamanna’s mother, the police arrested 12 additional prime accused who had been absconding in the case over the last three days. The total number of arrests now stands at 19, with the Chief Minister commending the prompt police action.
In a social media statement, Chief Minister Adhikari expressed satisfaction with the swift police response, attributing it to his commitment to ensuring justice for Tamanna. He praised the Krishnanagar District Police for their lawful actions and highlighted the arrest of 12 more individuals in connection with the case. Adhikari emphasized the government’s focus on upholding the rule of law impartially, without political bias.
The Chief Minister named the 12 accused individuals apprehended in the recent police actions, signaling a departure from past practices where political affiliations influenced law enforcement. The arrests come in the aftermath of Tamanna Khatun’s tragic death in a bomb blast during a victory procession in Kaliganj last year. The incident occurred on the day of bypoll results, which saw a significant win for the Trinamool Congress candidate.
