West Bengal Chief Minister, Suvendu Adhikari, held a ‘janata darbar’ at the BJP’s state office in Kolkata to address public grievances, including a father’s plea for assistance with his son’s liver transplant. Job seekers and families seeking urgent help lined up to meet the Chief Minister, raising issues related to healthcare, housing, and law and order for immediate intervention. Attendees like Subhajit Roy sought help for his son’s critical liver disease, highlighting the urgent need for funds for a transplant within 30 days.
Several attendees, including Sayantan Jana from Behala East, shared concerns about disputes and alleged harassment linked to local political influence, describing challenges in resolving matters due to perceived “TMC hooliganism.” Multiple applications and grievances were submitted during the ‘janata darbar,’ which officials forwarded to relevant departments for further action. The initiative aims to offer citizens a direct platform to address issues and seek administrative support from state leadership.
After taking office as Chief Minister, Suvendu Adhikari conducted his first ‘janata darbar’ in May at a BJP office in Kolkata, continuing the practice to engage with public demands and grievances.
