West Ham United has finalized the acquisition of winger Adama Traore from Fulham as part of their efforts to reinforce the team during the January transfer window and distance themselves from the Premier League 2026 relegation zone. Traore, a 30-year-old Spain international, has inked a contract until the season’s end, with West Ham retaining the option to prolong it for an additional year.
Adama Traore faced limited opportunities at Fulham this season, having started only two Premier League matches. He was excluded from Fulham’s recent league victory over Brighton and last appeared in the FA Cup triumph against Middlesbrough earlier this month.
Following the completion of the transfer, Traore expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming challenge and his eagerness to make a meaningful contribution. He emphasized his dedication to continuous improvement and supporting the team in any way possible.
“I’ve been observing West Ham for a considerable period. It’s a significant club with a vast fanbase. I’ve been a follower since my youth, after watching a film about West Ham. I’m aware of the fans and their immense passion,” Traore remarked in a statement issued by the club.
