Left-arm spinner Joshua Bishop has received his first Test call-up to the West Indies squad for the upcoming series against Pakistan in Trinidad from July 25 to August 6. Roston Chase will lead the team, with Jomel Warrican as the vice-captain. The squad largely remains unchanged from their recent Test series victory over Sri Lanka.
West Indies, currently ranked eighth in the World Test Championship standings, will face Pakistan, who are at the bottom of the table. Bishop’s selection comes on the back of his impressive performance in regional cricket, where he claimed 91 wickets in the last three West Indies Championship seasons.
In a squad update, batter Kirk McKenzie returns to the Test setup after a gap since 2024, replacing the injured John Campbell. Alzarri Joseph is unavailable due to personal reasons. The series will witness the historic first men’s Test match at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, followed by the second Test at the Queen’s Park Oval.
