Hollywood actress Whoopi Goldberg is set to auction off some of her personal belongings, such as costumes and memorabilia. Partnering with Julien’s Auctions for ‘Whoopi Goldberg: The Collection’, the 70-year-old star will be selling items like jewellery, dresses, and more next month. Goldberg expressed that after seven decades of life and a successful 40-year career, it’s time to part ways with these cherished possessions.
The auction will not only feature Goldberg’s personal items but also include donations to nonprofit organizations. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will go to One Simple Wish and DonorsChoose, as mentioned by the actress. Among the items up for auction are her custom Christian Siriano dress from the 2008 Tony Awards and a 1999 Bob Mackie costume from the Oscars, each estimated to fetch between $1,000 and $2,000.
Fans of Goldberg can also bid on iconic pieces like her Sister Act 2 blazer, expected to sell for $800 to $1,200. Martin Nolan, co-founder of Julien’s Auctions, expressed his honor in collaborating with Goldberg, highlighting her distinguished EGOT status. He emphasized that the collection reflects Goldberg’s attention to detail and lifelong commitment to artistry, offering a unique connection to entertainment history.
