English Football club Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, known as Wolves, has dismissed their head coach, Rob Edwards, and his coaching team. This decision comes after just seven months following the team’s relegation from the Premier League. Edwards, who took over in November, was unable to prevent Wolves from dropping to the Championship after eight years in the top tier.
Wolves, finishing at the bottom of the Premier League, 21 points from safety, saw Edwards secure only five wins out of 30 matches. This poor performance led to his early departure from the club. Wolves Executive Chairman Nathan Shi explained that the decision to part ways with Edwards was based on the club’s vision for progress in the coming years.
In an official statement, Nathan Shi emphasized that the choice to change coaching direction was not a reflection of Edwards’ character or dedication. He expressed gratitude for Edwards’ efforts and announced that the search for a new head coach is already in progress. The club aims to find a leader who can drive Wolves’ sporting development in the next phase.
