A woman from Sairpur, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, has accused Manzoor Ali, an Armed Forces member, of holding her captive and sexually assaulting her for five years. The woman also alleges that Ali coerced her into changing her religion. An FIR was filed against Ali, his brother Kamal, and their relative Salman based on the woman’s complaint. Manzoor Ali, the prime accused, has been arrested by the police.
The victim, who was originally married and living in Sitapur district, visited her maternal home in Saerpur in March 2021. It is claimed that Manzoor Ali abducted her one night after making her inhale a substance. He allegedly kept her captive, sexually assaulted her, and pressured her to convert to his religion. The victim reported that when Ali was on duty, Salman and Kamal, his relatives, would keep her confined and threatened her with harm.
With the help of a neighbor, the victim managed to contact her father recently, who then rescued her and brought her back home to Sairpur. In a separate incident, Nida Khan, the main suspect in the Nashik TCS religious conversion case, was apprehended in Maharashtra. Khan, accused of forced religious conversions at TCS in Nashik, had been evading authorities after multiple cases were filed against her. She was found hiding with her family in Kaiser Colony, Naregaon, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, and was arrested by the Nashik SIT, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police Commissionerate, and the Crime Branch.
