A 24-year-old woman in East Delhi’s Mandawali area has accused a man of sexually harassing her inside a moving car. The woman stated that the man, known to her, enticed her out under the guise of having momos and then diverted the car to a secluded spot. Allegedly, he made lewd comments, touched her inappropriately, and coerced her into sexual activity. The woman managed to record the incident on her phone and reported it to the police, leading to the man’s arrest.
In a distressing video, the woman can be heard pleading with the man to release her, while he continues with unwanted sexual advances, as reported by NDTV. The victim’s recording captured the man’s behavior during the assault, including the woman’s threats of self-harm if he persisted. Another similar incident in Pune, where a female lawyer was sexually assaulted in a moving car, resulted in the arrest of three suspects. This recent case in Delhi highlights a disturbing trend of such crimes.
The accused man, who is acquainted with the victim, allegedly tricked her with an offer of momos before attempting to exploit her in a secluded area. Fortunately, the woman recorded the entire ordeal on her mobile device, aiding in the legal proceedings. The incident comes shortly after the Delhi High Court revoked bail for a 57-year-old school caretaker accused of raping a three-year-old girl in Janakpuri, instructing him to surrender by July 1.
