A woman was tragically killed by her husband in a violent incident near a traffic signal in Andheri West’s Oshiwara area in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The husband attacked his wife with a large stone and then slit her throat with a knife after a heated argument. Following the assault, he fled the scene but was apprehended by the police a few hours later.
The tragic event unfolded close to a traffic signal near the Oshiwara Police Station late on Tuesday. An altercation between the couple escalated, leading the husband to assault his wife with a stone and subsequently use a knife to harm her. The woman suffered severe bleeding and collapsed due to the injuries inflicted upon her.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, authorities from the Oshiwara Police Station promptly responded, transporting the injured woman to Cooper Hospital for medical attention. Regrettably, the medical team at Cooper Hospital pronounced the woman deceased following their examination. The perpetrator attempted to evade capture by fleeing the scene, but law enforcement swiftly located and arrested him within hours.
A murder case has been filed against the husband under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police are currently interrogating the accused to determine the motive behind the heinous act and reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the crime. Further investigations into the matter are ongoing.
