A 21-year-old woman, injured during a protest at Jantar Mantar, is now conscious, breathing independently, and responding well to commands, according to a statement from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital. Since being admitted in critical condition, she has made significant progress, having been removed from the ventilator and showing signs of consciousness. The patient, who sustained severe injuries during the protest, is currently receiving intensive care at the hospital.
Doctors at RML Hospital have reported that the woman’s condition has stabilized, although she still requires close monitoring and advanced medical attention. Despite her stable clinical condition, she is under continuous critical care supervision by a multidisciplinary team. The incident occurred during a protest by the Cockroach Janta Party at Jantar Mantar on July 20, where the woman collided with a police barricade amid chaotic scenes.
The protest, part of the CJP’s ‘Sansad Chalo’ march, aimed to march towards Parliament, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations. The Cockroach Janta Party has stated that the protest will persist, emphasizing the Education Minister’s resignation as their key demand, even after activist Sonam Wangchuk ended a 26-day fast.
