Following the tragic death of a 24-year-old woman in Greater Noida’s Ecotech-3 area, the city police arrested her husband and father-in-law over alleged dowry harassment. The incident, which occurred in Jalpura village, has sparked fear and concern among local residents.
The deceased’s family suspects dowry-related murder, while the police’s initial probe suggests a suicide due to dowry harassment distress. The woman, identified as Deepika, was married to Hrithik about a year ago in a lavish ceremony costing nearly Rs one crore, including a Fortuner car.
Deepika’s family alleges she faced mental and physical abuse post-marriage, with demands for additional dowry. They point to injury marks on her body, raising suspicions of foul play. Family members accused the in-laws of murder upon discovering her body.
The police, upon receiving the suicide report, have initiated a thorough investigation. Based on a complaint by the deceased’s father, a case has been filed under relevant laws. While the police believe Deepika took her own life due to dowry harassment, further action awaits the post-mortem report and additional evidence.
The deceased woman’s family is demanding strict action against the accused, as investigations continue to uncover the circumstances leading to her untimely demise.
