On Army Day, Yami Gautam, a Bollywood actress, took a moment to honor India’s armed forces. She shared a post on X from a music label showcasing scenes from the 2024 political thriller film “Article 370” and expressed, “Happy Army Day. Today & everyday. Jai Hind.” Army Day, observed on January 15 annually in India, commemorates Lieutenant General Kodandera M. Cariappa becoming the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army on January 15, 1949, succeeding General Francis Roy Bucher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India.
Army Day serves as a day to pay tribute to the brave soldiers who have sacrificed their lives in defense of the nation and its people. The film “Article 370,” directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, features Yami Gautam and Priyamani in lead roles, along with other actors like Skand Thakur, Ashwini Kaul, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar. The movie is centered around the 2019 revocation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir related to Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.
Yami Gautam was recently seen in the courtroom drama film “Haq,” directed by Suparn Verma, where she starred alongside Emraan Hashmi and Sheeba Chaddha in significant roles. The movie draws inspiration from the Supreme Court case of Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum, addressing matrimonial issues in Muslim households. Yami is married to filmmaker Aditya Dhar, known for the blockbuster “Dhurandhar,” a film based on true events with a patriotic backdrop, featuring Akshaye Khanna, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt.
