Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled the new headquarters building of the Uttar Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (UPSDMA) in Lucknow. Stressing the importance of a collective approach in handling natural disasters, he highlighted the need for public awareness and preparedness. Adityanath mentioned that effective early warning systems, coordination, and awareness can significantly reduce loss of life and property.
The Chief Minister also launched the authority’s website and honored eight personnel from SDRF, PAC, and Fire Services for their exceptional work in relief and rescue operations during disasters. Adityanath expressed the vision of empowering every citizen in Uttar Pradesh to be prepared to fulfill their responsibilities during crises, alongside the government.
Emphasizing the significance of vigilance, preparedness, and disaster awareness, Adityanath underlined the importance of integrating disaster management into daily life. He highlighted the state government’s efforts to enhance the early warning system to mitigate future losses. Uttar Pradesh’s classification of human-wildlife conflict as a disaster sets a precedent for providing relief and aid to affected individuals.
Adityanath affirmed that the state is now better equipped to minimize loss of life and property during disasters. He praised the UPSDMA’s new headquarters as a state-of-the-art facility that will enhance disaster management capabilities and ensure prompt and effective responses to any calamity.
