Young Indians participating in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026 have seen their aspirations and policy suggestions echoed in the Union Budget 2026-27. Shubhra Chaubey, a student from Gujarat, expressed her views on youth-led development directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the event.
Chaubey mentioned that the Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, referred to the Budget as “youth-driven,” incorporating themes such as Skill India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, the gig economy, and the orange economy. She emphasized the increasing role of youth in nation-building, particularly in areas like women empowerment, entrepreneurship, and skills development.
The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026, held in New Delhi, gathered around 3,000 young leaders from across India. The event featured various activities like digital quizzes and presentations, with selected ideas making their way into national policies and the Budget.
Chaubey encouraged fellow young Indians to actively engage in shaping the nation’s future, highlighting the importance of their contributions. Prime Minister Modi and Finance Minister Sitharaman have underlined that the 2026-27 Budget acknowledges the aspirations of the youth, translating discussions from the Dialogue into actionable initiatives for a self-reliant India.
