Young MPs from the NDA, including Bansuri Swaraj and Shrikant Shinde, are set to address the Lok Sabha on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026. The Bill, to be introduced by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, aims to combat paper leaks and exam malpractices. The ruling alliance anticipates an extensive debate lasting 8-10 hours to emphasize consensus on exam transparency and fairness.

Among the speakers expected are Bansuri Swaraj, Tejasvi Surya, Rajiv Ranjan Singh ‘Lalan’, Shrikant Shinde, Sunil Tatkare, Anupriya Patel, and Arun Bharti. Additionally, Sayoni Ghosh, Mitali Bag, and Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu are expected to speak. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, overseeing the Education Ministry, will participate in Question Hour focusing on education-related queries.

The proposed amendment seeks to bolster exam system transparency and integrity with stricter penalties, including up to 10 years’ imprisonment and fines up to Rs 10 crore. The move follows Cabinet approval for fast-track courts and harsher penalties for paper leaks. PM Modi’s announcement of a comprehensive Bill against paper leaks led to the formation of a task force on exam reforms under Nandan Nilekani.
