Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed concern over the direction of the police system under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership. Reddy accused Naidu of steering the police towards political suppression, silencing dissent, and neglecting public safety. He emphasized the need for an administration that upholds justice, equality before the law, and operates in accordance with the Constitution.

Reddy highlighted instances of delayed investigations and lack of action in cases such as missing children, crimes against women, and custodial deaths. He criticized Naidu for diverting attention from these issues by targeting social media activists with severe charges. Reddy condemned the misuse of power to intimidate individuals and suppress democratic voices, labeling it as a threat to democracy and constitutional rights.

The YSR Congress Chief also raised concerns over the arrest of a YouTube influencer without due legal process and the unjust treatment of individuals critical of the government. Reddy pointed out the hypocrisy in the government’s actions, accusing Naidu of branding critics as criminals and undermining democratic values. He warned against the dangerous implications of such actions on democracy and called for upholding constitutional rights and democratic principles.
