Following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as the Union Education Minister due to the NEET paper leak, the YSR Congress Party has demanded the resignation of Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh. The party highlighted significant irregularities in the recruitment process for government teachers and emphasized the need for a CBI inquiry to uncover the truth.

YSRCP MLC P. Chandrasekhar Reddy stated that Minister Lokesh should step down immediately in light of repeated irregularities in the District Selection Committee (DSC) process. The recruitment, from notification to selection, has deviated from the mandated norms, particularly regarding the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) requirement for all teacher positions.

It was revealed that individuals who secured jobs through the DSC are now undergoing the TET, despite the initial requirement for TET-qualified candidates. This discrepancy underscores the government’s failure to adhere to stipulated guidelines in the recruitment process. Allegations of irregularities in question paper setting, valuation, and recruitment procedures further emphasize the need for a CBI investigation and the Education Minister’s prompt resignation.

Former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also called for Lokesh’s resignation, drawing parallels to the accountability demonstrated by the Union Education Minister’s resignation. The YSRCP criticized the NDA Government in Andhra Pradesh for neglecting educational reforms and questioned the government’s commitment to educational standards and accountability.
