YSR Congress Party leader Perni Venkataramaiah accused the Telugu Desam Party of falsely attributing the culture of animal sacrifice and blood offerings at flex boards to YSRCP. He criticized the TDP-led coalition government for engaging in what he termed as “diversionary and vindictive politics.” Venkataramaiah highlighted instances where TDP supporters themselves conducted such rituals during various events without facing consequences.
The YSRCP leader expressed concern over the selective outrage and policing tactics being used against his party’s supporters. He questioned the double standards in addressing these practices, noting that similar acts were ignored when carried out by TDP supporters. Venkataramaiah’s remarks came in response to the recent arrests of YSRCP workers for alleged animal sacrifices near posters of party leaders.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu accused YSRCP of escalating political violence through such acts, while Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha presented videos of the incidents as evidence. In contrast, Venkataramaiah criticized the treatment of detained YSRCP workers, denouncing their public humiliation and questioning the government’s selective enforcement of laws. He called for uniform application of regulations on animal sacrifices across the state.
