The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has demanded apologies from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan following a CBI chargesheet confirming no animal fat in Tirupati laddus. YSRCP expressed satisfaction over the truth coming to light regarding the absence of animal fat in the ghee used for making laddus at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). The party called for accountability from those who misled devotees with false information.
YSRCP’s official spokesperson, Karumuri Venkata Reddy, highlighted the exposure of a significant conspiracy in Andhra Pradesh’s history. He emphasized that testing by reputable institutes confirmed the absence of animal fat in the ghee used for the sacred Tirumala Sri Vari Laddu Prasadam. YSRCP leaders criticized Naidu and Pawan Kalyan for allegedly hurting religious sentiments by spreading misinformation about the laddus during the YSRCP’s rule.
The CBI, as part of its investigation, filed a chargesheet in the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Court in Nellore, referencing reports from the ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute. The chargesheet detailed the testing of ghee samples from TTD, which did not show the presence of animal fats. While the ghee was found to be adulterated with a mix of vegetable oils and laboratory esters, the absence of animal fat was confirmed.
