BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla led the praises as Zimbabwe secured a spot in the T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8s after their match against Ireland was washed out due to rain. With both teams earning a point each, Zimbabwe’s total reached five in Group B, dashing Australia’s hopes of advancing.

Shukla commended the T20 World Cup’s competitiveness, highlighting Australia’s unexpected exit and Zimbabwe’s progression. Former South African cricketers Dale Steyn and Herschelle Gibbs also congratulated Zimbabwe for their achievement.

As Zimbabwe prepares for the challenging Super 8s stage, facing tough opponents like India, South Africa, and West Indies, cricket enthusiasts anticipate their performance in the upcoming matches.
