Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s maiden venture as a producer, Subham, has made a splash with its newly released trailer, promising a refreshing blend of horror and comedy. Set to hit theatres on May 9, the film is produced under Samantha’s Tralala Moving Pictures and directed by Praveen Kandregula, known for his knack for quirky storytelling.

A Fresh Take on Horror-Comedy

The trailer opens with a humorous scene featuring a group of men boasting about how they expect their wives to cater to their whims-particularly having coffee ready at home. This light-hearted banter quickly takes a supernatural turn when the women, after getting hooked on a nightly TV serial, begin to act possessed, flipping the power dynamics in their households. The men, who once saw themselves as ‘alpha males,’ suddenly find themselves at the mercy of their wives’ bizarre new behavior.

Samantha’s Hilarious Cameo

One of the trailer’s highlights is Samantha’s own appearance as a quirky ‘maata’ (spiritual leader). Her comic timing shines as she is called upon to help the troubled husbands. In a memorable moment, she dramatically gestures that the men might not survive the ordeal, adding a layer of tongue-in-cheek humor that has already caught the attention of fans online.

Unique Storytelling and Visuals

Subham stands out for its playful critique of traditional gender roles, using supernatural elements to satirize patriarchal attitudes. The trailer’s production design and visuals effectively create a village setting where the ordinary quickly turns bizarre. The central conflict-wives behaving as if possessed by a TV show-serves as both a source of comedy and a clever commentary on societal norms.

Rising Cast and Technical Crew

The film features a fresh ensemble cast, including Harshith Reddy, Gavireddy Srinivas, Charan Peri, Shriya Kontham, Shravani Lakshmi, Shalini Kondepudi, and Vamshidhar Goud. The music, composed by Vivek Sagar and Clinton Cerejo, adds to the quirky and energetic vibe, while the creative team’s attention to detail is evident in every frame.

Audience Buzz and Expectations

Fans have responded enthusiastically to the trailer, especially to Samantha’s cameo and the film’s comic tone. Social media is abuzz with praise for the trailer’s fun, heart, and originality, with many looking forward to seeing how the supernatural chaos unfolds on the big screen.

Subham’s trailer promises a genre-defying entertainer packed with humor, horror, and social satire. Samantha’s debut as a producer, combined with her memorable cameo, sets the stage for a summer release that aims to both amuse and intrigue audiences. With its unique premise and lively execution, Subham is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of innovative Telugu cinema.
