Ten individuals lost their lives in a tragic accident on Thursday in Chhindwara district. The incident occurred when a bus, carrying around 40 passengers returning from Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s event, collided head-on with a pickup truck loaded with garlic near Umranala. The collision, caused by the bus attempting to overtake another vehicle, resulted in the bus overturning.
Chief Minister Yadav has announced financial aid of four lakh rupees for the families of the deceased. Among the victims were six men, three women, and one child who died at the scene. One passenger is in critical condition and has been transferred to Nagpur for advanced medical care, while five others are receiving treatment at the local hospital.
The injured passengers were promptly taken to the hospital with the assistance of local residents and officials. The passengers were returning from the Chief Minister’s programme in Saunsar town. He also instructed medical teams to be dispatched from Jabalpur to Chhindwara and Nagpur. Additionally, the Minister-in-charge of Chhindwara, Rakesh Singh, was asked to alter his schedule and reach the district promptly.
Those critically injured will receive financial assistance of one lakh rupees each, as announced by Chief Minister Yadav. All injured passengers will be provided with free medical care.
