A tragic incident occurred in West Delhi’s Khyala area as a 13-year-old boy, Jaspreet, lost his life in a house fire, while a 65-year-old woman named Swamjeet Kaur sustained injuries. The fire, reported at 2:45 a.m., originated on the ground floor of a house in Khyala’s Vishnu Garden. Firefighters and relief teams promptly responded to the distress call and initiated rescue efforts.
Jaspreet and Swamjeet Kaur suffered burn injuries in the blaze and were swiftly taken to Guru Govind Hospital by neighbors even before the fire department arrived. Unfortunately, Jaspreet was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, while Swamjeet Kaur is being treated for 35% burns. The fire is suspected to have started from an electric scooter on the ground floor, spreading rapidly throughout the entire floor.
In a separate incident the previous day, a fire broke out in a three-storey house in Delhi’s Vijay Vihar Phase-2, with all residents safely evacuated by the fire service. The fire, which began in the parking area, quickly spread to the upper floors. The Delhi Fire Service responded promptly, rescuing those trapped inside the building. After intense efforts, the fire was successfully extinguished. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
