At least 14 Pakistani military personnel lost their lives in separate attacks by Baloch armed groups in Balochistan. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for an attack in the Chamalang region, resulting in the death of eight army personnel, including an officer named Tauseef Bhatti. Chamalang, known for its mineral wealth, has been a target for attacks by Baloch armed groups advocating for independence.
The BLA spokesperson, Jeeyand Baloch, stated that the attack on a Pakistani army convoy was a coordinated effort based on precise intelligence. Another incident involved armed fighters targeting mineral-carrying trailers in the Chagai district, leading to clashes with security forces and casualties. In a separate event, armed individuals set up a checkpoint in Dalbandin, detaining three people linked to a copper project and seizing a vehicle.
Recent attacks by Baloch groups in Balochistan have caused significant casualties and infrastructure damage. The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) have also been involved in attacks on Pakistani forces and infrastructure. These incidents highlight the escalating violence in the region, with various groups targeting military and police forces.
