A 17-year-old law entrance aspirant from Bihar’s Samastipur district was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in a hostel room in Patna’s Secretariat Colony area. The incident has sparked a police investigation. The deceased had been residing at the Radhe Krishna Hostel in the Patrakar Nagar Police Station’s jurisdiction while preparing for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).
According to the hostel warden, the girl student had a regular dinner on Monday night before retiring to her room. There were no apparent signs in her behavior indicating that she would take such a drastic step. Described as a quiet and reserved student, she had recently returned to Patna after a study module in her native village.
During the initial inquiry, it was revealed that just before the incident, she had an emotional phone conversation with a friend. The friend mentioned that she was in tears during the call and tried to console her, advising her not to harm herself and suggesting that she go back home to be with her parents. Allegedly, the student responded that even her parents were not communicating with her.
Fellow hostel residents informed investigators that she had been visibly distressed in the preceding days, raising concerns about the emotional difficulties she might have been encountering. Police responded promptly to the incident on Tuesday morning and have initiated a thorough investigation. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and the family has been notified about the tragic event.
