A 20-year-old man met a tragic end in Mumbai’s Dharavi as he was brutally killed in broad daylight. The victim, Ashwin Shivkumar Nadar, fell prey to a vicious attack involving over 20 stab wounds and a slit throat by his acquaintance, Ashiq Asim Akhtar Khan. The assault is believed to have arisen from a longstanding personal conflict between the two individuals.
The Dharavi Police reported that the accused, Khan, was apprehended at the scene with a blood-stained knife, as witnesses recounted his menacing behavior, including issuing death threats during the attack. Investigations suggest that Nadar and Khan were familiar with each other and had a history of disagreements, with the primary motive behind the murder suspected to be Khan’s resentment after Nadar allegedly rejected a relationship or cohabitation proposal.
Upon learning of the incident, law enforcement swiftly responded, detaining the accused. Nadar, critically injured in the assault, was rushed to Sion Hospital but tragically succumbed to his wounds despite medical efforts. In a separate incident on March 17, a 42-year-old man in Mumbai allegedly pushed his wife in front of a local train following a domestic dispute, resulting in her death. The perpetrator attempted to flee but was later captured by Railway Police STF in Surat after a chase spanning multiple locations.
