Half-centuries by Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma powered India to a strong total of 219/5 in 20 overs against Zimbabwe in the second T20I at Harare Sports Club. Kishan’s aggressive 81 off 44 balls, supported by Varma’s unbeaten 60 off 29 deliveries, led India’s batting charge.
India, batting first, saw Abhishek Sharma making an early impact with back-to-back boundaries before falling to Blessing Muzarabani. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s attacking play was short-lived as he was dismissed for 20 after a quick 19-run cameo. Skipper Shreyas Iyer’s partnership with Kishan was broken by Brian Bennett, but Kishan’s explosive innings, including nine fours and two sixes, propelled India forward.
Kishan and Varma’s partnership of 94 runs for the fourth wicket further boosted India’s total. Kishan’s innings ended at 81, and Varma continued the momentum by reaching his fifty in 23 balls. Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube contributed quick runs towards the end, guiding India past the 210-run mark.
