A 24-year-old woman tragically died by suicide at her matrimonial home in Delhi’s Nangloi area. She recorded videos accusing her husband and in-laws of continuous harassment before her death. The incident was reported to the Nangloi Police Station on Monday morning.
Officials revealed that the woman was brought to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival. Police investigations indicated that the woman died by suicidal hanging. The matter was then reported to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate for further legal procedures due to the timing of her death in relation to her marriage.
The deceased woman’s mother alleged that the husband, Rohit, had a history of assaulting her daughter while intoxicated. The family claimed that the woman had been enduring marital difficulties for an extended period. Additionally, it was discovered that Rohit was undergoing treatment for a severe head injury sustained in an accident a few months prior.
Further inquiries revealed that the deceased woman had recorded two videos before her death, which are now being examined by the authorities. These videos reportedly depict the woman’s distress and fear due to the alleged continuous harassment by her husband. The police are carefully reviewing the recordings and other evidence to ascertain the circumstances surrounding her tragic demise.
Following a post-mortem examination, a case was registered against the husband based on the family’s allegations and collected evidence. The investigation is ongoing, with the police diligently exploring all aspects of the case.
