A 25-year-old woman in Bengaluru tragically took her own life at her residence, leaving behind a note accusing her husband and in-laws of torment and mistreatment. Identified as Shwetha, she hailed from Chikkamagaluru and worked as a teacher in the city. Shwetha, who had a love marriage four months ago, was found hanging at her home in Kamakshipalya police station’s jurisdiction.
The police responded to the scene promptly upon receiving the report and discovered a handwritten note detailing the circumstances. The note revealed that the woman attributed her extreme decision to the alleged harassment inflicted by her husband and sister-in-law. She expressed her despair in the note, stating that the abuse had made life unbearable for her. Shwetha’s poignant message to her mother, “If I die, please don’t spare them,” underscored the distress she faced.
In her final words, Shwetha acknowledged her mistake and sought forgiveness. She explicitly held her husband and his sister accountable for her untimely death, citing relentless torment as the reason for her drastic action. The couple, who tied the knot at the Shakti Ganapathi Temple in Kamalanagar, Bengaluru, had been residing together post their marriage. An investigation is underway following the registration of a case at the Kamakshipalya Police Station, with authorities verifying the claims made in the note for further proceedings.
