The Delhi Police have apprehended a 34-year-old man in connection with the murder of a local resident in Nand Nagri, Delhi. The arrest was made by the Nand Nagri Police Station team after a thorough investigation into the killing of Mohd. Umardin near Bade School. The suspect, identified as Sunil alias Deepu alias Narender, was found in possession of a pistol and three live cartridges.
The breakthrough in the case came after the police gathered technical inputs, local intelligence, and other evidence. Sunil, son of Bishan Singh and a resident of Nand Nagri’s B-block, was nabbed based on clues obtained during the probe. Inspector Anand Yadav led the dedicated team that carried out the operation, supported by other police personnel.
During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to the murder. A country-made pistol and live cartridges suspected to be used in the crime were seized from him. Further checks revealed that Sunil has a history of involvement in eight criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder, snatching, and offenses under the Arms Act.
The arrest is seen as a significant development in resolving the murder case, although investigations are ongoing to determine the exact motive behind the killing and the potential involvement of any accomplices. The recovered weapon has been sent for forensic examination, and authorities are examining call records and other evidence to reconstruct the events leading to the crime.
