A 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck Pakistan on Saturday, as reported by the National Center for Seismology (NCS). Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of deaths or property damage. This quake follows closely after another tremor that shook parts of the country on Friday.
The NCS stated that the earthquake measured 5.3 in magnitude and occurred at a depth of 75 kilometers. Although the tremors were felt across various regions, there have been no reports of casualties or structural harm. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation for further updates.
Initial assessments had initially estimated the quake’s magnitude at 5.4, later revising it to 5.5. These recent seismic events underscore Pakistan’s susceptibility to such natural disasters. The country is situated along the boundary of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates, making it highly prone to earthquakes.
This recent earthquake is part of a series of tremors affecting the region, following closely after Friday’s 5.3 magnitude quake. Meanwhile, Venezuela also faced a significant natural disaster with a fresh 4.9 magnitude earthquake off its northern coast, occurring shortly after devastating twin earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 hit the country.
