Over 6,000 yoga enthusiasts gathered at Kanha Shanti Vanam in Telangana to perform ‘Bhujangasana’ together, setting the Asia Book of Records for the largest simultaneous yoga gathering. The event, led by Minister of State Prataprao Jadhav and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, marked the 50-day countdown to the International Day of Yoga 2026.
The Yoga Mahotsav, organized by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga under the Ministry of Ayush, attracted thousands of participants. Union Minister Reddy emphasized the global significance of yoga, stating its benefits for individuals worldwide. He also highlighted the importance of yoga in building a healthy, peaceful, and disciplined society by addressing modern challenges like stress and pollution.
Minister Jadhav praised the global movement of yoga for holistic well-being under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He emphasized the role of yoga in promoting physical health, mental clarity, and emotional balance. The newly launched Yoga 365 initiative aims to integrate yoga into daily life, offering free training programs and certifications to encourage widespread participation.
