A 65-year-old man lost his life, and another individual was critically injured in a violent clash in North-East Delhi’s Seelampur area early Monday morning. The incident, driven by a longstanding rivalry, occurred around 8:00 a.m. within the Seelampur Police Station’s jurisdiction. The deceased, identified as Ismail, was fatally injured, while a 45-year-old man suffered severe eye injuries and remains in critical condition at Pravesh Chandra Hospital.

Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and Crime Teams swiftly arrived at the scene post-incident to gather evidence. A pistol and a knife were recovered by investigators from the location. Mehjabeen, the daughter of the deceased, recounted the tragic event, stating that her father was alone, drinking tea when the accused, Danish, approached him armed with a knife and a pistol. Despite recent minor disputes, the intensity of the attack left the family perplexed, as Danish had previously issued threats that were not taken seriously.

This incident follows a recent double murder in South Delhi’s CR Park area on April 18, where a father and son were fatally stabbed amidst financial disagreements. Rakesh Sood (62) and his son Karan (27) succumbed to their injuries upon arrival at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, while a third victim, Rahul, survived and is currently receiving medical care. Asad, a neighbor in the Tara Apartments complex, was apprehended by the police in connection with the incident. Asad, a resident of Tara Apartments, was identified as the suspect during the investigation and was taken into custody for interrogation. Police reports suggest that the accused used a sharp weapon in the attack before fleeing the scene.

Eyewitnesses and on-site visuals depicted bloodstains on the ground, leading to the area being cordoned off as police conducted a thorough examination.
