The Bihar Police Academy recently held its 69th Convocation Ceremony in Rajgir, welcoming 19 newly trained Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to the Bihar Police force. Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar emphasized the importance of public service and dedication in policing, urging the new officers to view their roles beyond just a job or salary. He shared insights from his own training days and stressed the significance of service, commitment, and responsibility towards society in policing.
Among the 19 trainee DSPs, 14 are men and 5 are women, who underwent comprehensive training in various aspects of modern policing, including cybercrime investigation, disaster response, and leadership development. The training also included practical sessions on rifle shooting, handling modern weapons, ceremonial drills, and field operations. Trainee DSP Pooja Kumari described the training as physically and mentally demanding yet highly rewarding, anticipating even greater challenges in their upcoming field postings.
Reflecting on the training, batch topper Ujjwal Kumar Upkar expressed confidence in contributing meaningfully to society through policing. The ceremony also paid tribute to former Punjab Police chief K.P.S. Gill, known for his anti-terror operations during the insurgency period in Punjab. Gill, who retired in 1995 and passed away in 2017, left a lasting legacy in the realm of law enforcement.
