As many as 900 women entrepreneurs from 28 states are participating in the ‘SARAS Aajeevika Mela-2026’ in Gurugram. The event, led by Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, showcases rural traditions, folk arts, and women’s entrepreneurship. The fair, held at Leisure Valley Park Ground, features 450 stalls offering diverse products from different regions of India.

Swati Sharma, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development, mentioned that 10 crore women are part of the “Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to create 3 crore ‘Lakhpati Didis,’ with 2.9 crore already achieving this status by December 2025. Sharma highlighted the financial progress of Self-Help Group women, with NPAs dropping below 2%.

Successful women entrepreneurs shared their inspiring stories during a press conference at the fair. Many women emphasized how joining self-help groups and government schemes transformed their lives, enabling them to support their families and create job opportunities for others. The fair also features the ‘Knowledge and Learning Pavilion,’ offering workshops on business skills like packaging, branding, and social media marketing.
