A total of 928 individuals were apprehended for driving under the influence of alcohol in Cyberabad during the New Year festivities. To ensure safety and prevent accidents, the Cyberabad Police carried out a rigorous crackdown on drunk driving starting from the night of December 31, 2025, until Thursday morning. During this operation, 55 teams were deployed across Cyberabad, resulting in the apprehension of the offenders.

According to the police, the cases of drunk driving included 695 two-wheeler riders, 31 three-wheeler drivers, 199 four-wheeler drivers, and three heavy vehicle drivers. The driving licenses of the offenders will be confiscated and sent to the relevant Regional Transport Authorities for suspension under Section 19 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, as stated by the Cyberabad Police. Among those charged, 419 individuals had alcohol levels exceeding 100 mg/100 ml of blood, with 35 individuals surpassing 300 mg/100 ml, and five individuals recording extremely high levels over 500 mg/100 ml.

Most incidents were reported from various traffic police station limits in areas such as Miyapur, RC Puram, Raidurgam, Gachibowli, Kukatpally, Medchal, Narsingi, Rajendranagar, and KPHB. The Cyberabad Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr. Gajarao Bhupal, alongside all Law and Order DCPs and Traffic DCPs, actively oversaw the operations throughout the night to ensure smooth traffic flow and safe celebrations within the Cyberabad Commissionerate.
