Following the resignation of Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha and six other Members of Parliament from the AAP to join the BJP, AAP leader Anurag Dhanda alleged that the BJP is resorting to fear-based strategies due to the growing influence of his party, especially in Gujarat.
Dhanda expressed that the BJP is apprehensive of the Aam Aadmi Party’s rapid progress, particularly in Gujarat, which has unsettled them. He accused the BJP of employing investigative agencies, intimidation, and coercion to undermine AAP’s strength.
Moreover, Dhanda claimed that AAP’s digital presence in Gujarat, including its social media accounts on platforms like Instagram and Facebook, has faced restrictions and blockages. He condemned this as an attack on freedom of speech and emphasized that the BJP’s efforts to silence AAP will not deter Arvind Kejriwal.
Drawing historical parallels, Dhanda referenced iconic figures from India’s freedom movement like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, and Bhagat Singh, highlighting the importance of resistance against oppression over compromise.
AAP leader Sanjay Singh has formally requested the termination of membership for MPs who switched to the BJP, arguing that they no longer hold the legal right to remain in the Rajya Sabha. This move follows Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha’s announcement of joining the BJP, citing constitutional provisions for the merger.
