AAP leader Manish Sisodia has joined Arvind Kejriwal in the legal battle over Delhi’s liquor policy, citing the Gandhian principle of ‘Satyagraha’ and expressing doubts about court proceedings. Sisodia, like Kejriwal, wrote to the Delhi High Court judge, explaining his reservations and emphasizing the importance of justice appearing fair to all citizens. He highlighted concerns about the judge’s affiliations and family connections to government panels.
Sisodia mentioned instances where judges recused themselves in similar situations over the past 75 years, stressing the need for judicial ethics. He questioned the fairness of the proceedings, emphasizing the duty of disclosure and self-regulation. The case’s political sensitivity raised concerns about transparency, fairness, and institutional scrutiny, according to Sisodia.
AAP’s National Media In-charge Anurag Dhanda confirmed Sisodia’s decision to pursue ‘Satyagraha’ after Kejriwal, expressing skepticism about receiving justice. Kejriwal had earlier informed the court of his decision to abstain from the proceedings, opting for Satyagraha in pursuit of justice, following Gandhi’s principles.
