Stalwart singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has sparked a debate with his subtle sarcasm on the issue of actors receiving credit for songs sung by playback singers. During a rapid-fire conversation on Indian Idol, Abhijeet highlighted the distinction between acting and soulful singing, emphasizing the heartfelt nature of playback singing. Known for his wit, he humorously pointed out the difference in singing styles, stating, “Yes, they sing very well. They sing so well, but the problem is that we sing from our hearts and sometimes we sing from our mouths.”
Host Aditya Narayan also shared an interesting tidbit, mentioning that Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Udit Narayan sang their first duet together around 35 years ago. The upcoming episode of Indian Idol will feature iconic voices of the 90s, including Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Kavita Krishnamurthy. Abhijeet, a prominent figure in the Indian film industry for over three decades, is celebrated as one of Bollywood’s finest singers, with chart-topping hits like Chaand Taare, Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaaun, and Tauba Tumhare Ishaare.
