Trinamool Congress General Secretary and MP, Abhishek Banerjee announced that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will discuss objections to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision with the Chief Election Commissioner in New Delhi. Banerjee highlighted his recent meeting with the Commissioner, emphasizing the difference between being nominated and elected.
During a political rally in South 24 Parganas district, Banerjee introduced three individuals who were wrongly listed as deceased voters in the draft voters’ list. This rally marked Banerjee’s first public appearance of the year, ahead of the upcoming state Assembly elections.
Banerjee expressed confidence in Trinamool Congress’s performance in the upcoming elections, aiming to secure an additional seat in South 24 Parganas compared to the previous polls. He specifically targeted the Bhangar Assembly constituency, emphasizing the party’s determination to win there.
Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of intruding on personal freedoms, Banerjee defended Bengali culture against misrepresentation. He assured that under Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, such interference would not succeed in West Bengal, predicting consistent results in 2026.
