As tensions rise over alleged embezzlement at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’s Office In-charge, Prakash Gupta, has accused workers brought by the State Bank of India (SBI) for the counting process of being involved in the theft of offerings. Gupta mentioned that SBI was responsible for the counting, with workers assigned the task under an agreement between SBI and the Temple Trust.
One member of the temple trust oversaw the counting process but was unaware of any thefts occurring, according to the temple trust’s Office In-charge. Gupta emphasized that any allegations made against the Trust were unrelated, placing the responsibility on SBI for the misappropriation of donations and funds by the workers involved in the counting process.
Gupta highlighted that the eight accused individuals arrested in connection with the embezzlement were responsible for the counting process, with Tinnu Yadav overseeing the process and maintenance duties within the Trust’s premises. He stressed that the Trust and its members were not involved in the alleged misappropriation of funds and urged for a fair and thorough investigation into the matter.
In a separate development, Dharm Sena Bharat chief and former karsevak Santosh Dubey alleged that gold, silver ornaments, and other offerings made at the Ram Temple, now reportedly missing, were traded in shops within Ayodhya. Dubey claimed that the former General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai, was aware of this. He called on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to replace the current officers of Ram Janmbhoomi Police Station to prevent any hindrance to the investigation.
