Nida Khan, a key accused in the TCS-related sexual harassment and alleged religious conversion case, has been remanded to 14-day judicial custody by the Nashik Court. Following this decision, Khan was transferred to Nashik Road Central Jail after being in police custody where she was extensively interrogated about various aspects of the case.
After the completion of her police remand, Khan was presented before the court. Following arguments from both sides, the court ruled to detain her in judicial custody while the investigation continues. The Nashik Police, aided by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), is currently investigating the sensitive allegations in this case.
Nida Khan was apprehended by the Maharashtra Police on May 7 after being on the run for several days. She was found in a residential apartment in Kaiser Colony in the Naregaon area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where she had been residing with family members including her parents, brother, and aunt.
Law enforcement had been monitoring the location for nearly two days before Khan’s arrest. The operation was a joint effort involving the Nashik SIT, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police Commissionerate, and the Crime Branch. Given the seriousness and public interest in the case, senior officials had formed a specialized investigative team.
The residence where Nida Khan had sought refuge during her time in hiding is slated for demolition soon, as confirmed by Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Shirsat. The minister emphasized the severity of the situation, highlighting that an AIMIM corporator had provided shelter to Khan for over a month, implicating himself in the crime.
The corporator’s house, where Khan had been hiding, is facing demolition due to illegal construction and the failure to provide necessary documents to the Municipal Corporation. The minister stated that a three-day notice has been issued for the demolition of the property, emphasizing the gravity of the offense.
