Darshan, Accused number 2 in the murder case of fan Renukaswamy, has filed a fresh bail petition with the Supreme Court. He cited delays in evidence examination as the reason for seeking bail. Despite cooperating with investigations, Darshan expressed concern over the prolonged trial proceedings.
The Supreme Court had previously revoked Darshan’s bail granted by the Karnataka High Court. Consequently, he was re-arrested and is currently held at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru. Due to the cancellation of his High Court bail, Darshan has directly approached the Supreme Court this time for relief.
The murder of Renukaswamy, Darshan’s fan, occurred in Bengaluru in 2024. The investigation revealed that Renukaswamy had made advances towards Darshan’s girlfriend, leading to a fatal altercation. Darshan, along with Pavithra Gowda and others, was arrested on charges of kidnapping and murdering Renukaswamy.
