Even though actor Jiiva is thrilled about his film ‘Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil’ hitting screens for Pongal, he is also disappointed that actor Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ won’t be released for the festival. Jiiva, speaking at the trailer launch event, urged support for their film, now set to release on January 15 instead of the initial date of January 30. He mentioned the void left by ‘Jana Nayagan’ and how theater owners are reaching out to them.
Expressing solidarity with Vijay, Jiiva highlighted the actor’s support to the industry over the past few decades, emphasizing their shared history of working together. ‘Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil’ marks Jiiva’s 45th film, directed by Nithish Sahadev and shot in a picturesque village in the Western Ghats. The movie, produced by Kannan Ravi, revolves around pre-wedding developments and was predominantly filmed at night.
Jiiva shared that the film portrays a conflict between two families, with his character serving as a village Panchayat chief mediating the disputes. Apart from Jiiva, the movie features a cast including Thambi Ramaiya, Ilavarasu, and others. Written by Sanjo Joseph, Nithish Sahadev, and Anuraj OB, the film is creatively directed by Lipin Unni. Vishnu Vijay composed the music, Bablu Aju handled cinematography, Arjune Babu managed editing, and Sunil Kumaran oversaw art direction.
