Actor Manchu Manoj expressed disappointment over recent comments policing women’s clothing, calling such behavior outdated and unacceptable. While not specifying the source of the comments, social media users linked his response to actor Sivaji’s remarks at the ‘Dhandoraa’ film event, where Sivaji advocated for modest attire for actresses. Manoj, in a statement, emphasized the importance of protecting women’s rights and rejecting the notion of moral policing in society.

Manoj highlighted the need for respect and individual accountability, stating that public figures, especially, should be mindful of their influence on societal norms. He criticized the comments for infringing on constitutional rights, citing Articles 14, 15, and 21 that uphold equality, dignity, and personal liberty for all citizens, including women. Additionally, he issued an apology on behalf of senior actors whose remarks he believed had objectified and disrespected women, emphasizing the importance of holding individuals accountable for their words and actions.
