Actor-politician C. Joseph Vijay, the president of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has ramped up his election campaign by conducting consecutive outreach programs in crucial constituencies. He is running for office from both Perambur in Chennai and Tiruchi East. Following an extensive door-to-door campaign in Perambur, Vijay is set to campaign in Tiruchi East on Sunday evening. He will fly from Chennai to Tiruchi in a private aircraft, with the campaign scheduled from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., covering various significant areas in the constituency.
Vijay is expected to kick off his outreach near the airport on Wireless Road, proceeding with a roadshow through Thendral Nagar, KK Nagar Bus Stand, Kajamalai Road, EVR College Road, Tamil Nadu Hotel junction, Kozhipannai Road, and Kottapattu. Addressing the public from an open vehicle, he will seek support for his party’s candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections. After the campaign, Vijay will return to the Tiruchi airport by 7 p.m.
Authorities have granted permission for the campaign, with strict adherence to election guidelines. The Returning Officer has given clearance following approvals from the Election Commission and the police. However, officials have imposed conditions to ensure compliance with the Model Code of Conduct and public order maintenance.
Key restrictions include not obstructing traffic with political flags, avoiding violations of election code provisions, and prohibiting unauthorized posters, banners, or party flags at campaign venues. Additionally, the use of hazardous or explosive materials is strictly banned. The campaign must adhere to the permitted time frame and designated locations, with a total of 27 conditions to be followed without deviation.
As the high-voltage campaigning nears its final phase before polling, Vijay’s dual-constituency approach is under close scrutiny as TVK aims to strengthen its position in Tamil Nadu’s political arena.
